Planter warts symptomsOne of the first signs of planter warts is foot pain. Because the warts develop on the sole of the foot, it's the first area that starts to get painful while standing or walking. This may result in in a different, poorer way of posture, causing spinal pain. Planter warts look like round, circular, somewhat thick areas of the outer layer of the skin, mostly with tiny pinpoint dark dots at the centre areas. The warts usually occur in the high pressure areas on the bottom of the foot and the heel. When having planter warts, the warts may start bleeding if scratched. The bleeding can shed the virus and make it possible for other growths to appear, often with increasing discomfort and pain. If you are unsure whether you have a planter wart or another condition, you are advised to contact your (foot)doctor. Most growths are harmless, but some sorts can become cancerous. Other common foot conditions: toenail fungus, caused by a fungus that digests keratin, the protective outer layer of nails. |
